Solitary and majestic mountain lions hunt mostly at night. They are highly adaptable feline predators with exceptional vertical leaping capabilities which they employ during stealth rear ambush style attacks on prey. They are commonly 8 feet in length and weigh 110lbs. Mother lions raise their kits alone and require a fresh kill, ofter a deer, about every 5 days. The mother hides the carcass under leaves, dirt, pine needle or snow to protect her catch. Daybeds are commonly near a kill.
