Oil on wood

Mexican Grey Wolves are the rarest of all Grey Wolves. They naturally occur in the desert southwest and Mexico. They are half the size of other wolves, about the size of a German Shepard,  but can reach speeds of 40 mph. Nearly extinct due to poisoning , they are now federally protected and their numbers are recovering a bit. These two wolves image was captured by a photographer at Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center near Divide, Colorado and generously provided for this painting.
